The Perfect Gift for Dads to Be: New Being Dad DVD Series

April 29, 2009

For Dads-to-be who want to know what to expect while they’re expecting and beyond, the parenting DVD series “Being Dad: Inspiration and Information for Dads-to-Be” and “Being Dad 2: Bringing the Baby Home” help new dads and fathers-to-be see and hear real men in the same situation discussing everything from the fears and joys of becoming and being a father to sex during and after pregnancy. The series indentifies common worries and anxieties while providing the assurance and confidence dad’s need. “My husband and I laughed, cried and seriously related to so much of what these DVDs had to talk about,” said mother, Andrea Summers.

Produced and written for men by men, the first “Being Dad” DVD offers an inside look into fatherhood from a guy’s perspective bringing together more than 40 honest and entertaining dads discussing everything from how they first found out about the pregnancy and continuing their thoughts through delivery. Husband and father, Jason Bailey, said this series was “informative, humorous, and a great way to give guys perspective on becoming a father.” Also discussed are sex, miscarriage, premature birth, and postpartum depression.

The second and newest DVD, “Being Dad 2,” discusses life after baby is born. The 99-minute film shows how they balance work, home and relationships while being active, involved fathers. The dads discuss diaper changes, traveling with babies, separation anxiety, immunizations, keeping your wife happy, finances and more.

“My husband learned more by watching “Being Dad” than he did the whole nine months that I was reading to him from my pregnancy books,” said “Being Dad” professional blogger; Kaliani Okamoto, “Plus, he seemed to take the information more to heart when it was coming from other men.”

Both “Being Dad” DVDs can are available for $29.99 at Barnes and Noble nationwide, BeingDadUSA.com, Amazon.com, and TheParentingSpace.com. For more information contact Kelsey Bonesteel.

Being Dad was filmed in Los Angeles, San Diego, New York and other major US cities. Producers and the dads featured in the film are available for an interview.
